Pray Rather Than Gossip


Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6‭-‬7 HCSB

Today there are things I could worry about but as the scripture tells me what to do, I will pray.

I hear people say: "I am really worried about ......" this should be their answer. It is God who orders our paths and shepherds us on our way. He is the one to talk to.

IN Australia, where I live, there are lots of farms and farm animals. If I see a sheep in danger I can go to the farmer and tell him. He has the power to bring the sheep safely home. It would be pointless me going up to the sheep of the fold and talking to them, they would not understand me and think me weird. Talking to the lost sheep is also futile.

Yet in chuch we talk to other people about one that is lost, but not to God. Why not pray for them? Myself, I cherish prayer, not chatter.

So, pray more, with compassion and do less gossip! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
