Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ.
Colossians 3:23-24 HCSB
If we fail to think of self in any endeavour but rather think of God, the burden lifts, gratitude comes with joy. If I continually think "poor me" I will walk around with a huge cloud above me.
My reward comes from the Lord. My wages are joy and peace and provision in any circumstance. I am reminded of the prophets Elisha and Elijah. Both showed the powerful provision of God as they confronted evil in their days. Sure they had moments of doubt but they lived lives that showed who they served. I want that life not the cushy namby pamby ease of self-indulgence.
We are called to confront this age we live in by living a life sold out to Christ and as we do God deals with the systems that wrong us or fail us. He is God! I am His servant! Amen!
Sunday is the Lords day, not mine. Today I honour Him and join with others who love Him. He is worthy to be praised! Amen!
