Humility a Good Idea

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you.
1 Peter 5:6‭-‬7 HCSB

Why is there a therefore? In the previous verse Peter says: And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.1 Peter 5:5

We are proud when we are in the flesh about something. Having God resist us is not a pleasant thing. If we find ourselves being resisted by God, a prayer for awareness of our sin is a good thing, followed by repentance for our sin.

Humbling ourselves before God is a good idea. Humility is attractive to God. I find it attractive in others as well. So...it stands to reason that my God is drawn to it in me. Amen!
