Loving God and Loving Others
He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
Matthew 22:387-40 HCSB
Last night a few hundred of Gods people came together, from all denominations, to pray for rain. We prayed to our God and blessed Him for who He is and then we prayed for our farmers who need the rain.
Loving God first and then loving others second before ourselves is always a challenge. Last night was a very cold night to be out. However the fruit of the prayer is that today there is a change in the weather. Praise God! We prayed that the waterways would fill up, I pray it is so.
Loving others requires us to do something. Many are fundraising for the farmers and putting food parcels together, most importantly they need to know they belong and are important to us as they suffer in the worst drought in 116 years, we are told.
One woman prayed that the farmers would reach out to God. My prayer is that they find Him. He is the best friend we can find. Amen!
