Finally, brothers, pray for us that the Lord’s message may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and guard you from the evil one.
2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 HCSB
This book of Thessalonians deals with truth and denouncing of those who were unsettling the church with talk of end times. Paul is encouraging the believers to stand firm and not be wavered by strange teaching.
Paul's focus is the word of God and the spread of the gospel. He asks for prayers of protection from evil men who would oppose him and his message. He also prays for the church that God would protect them from the evil one.
Today we can pray, as the Lord has told us: deliver us from evil. I pray for my family Gods protection. As I step out in God the person most often attacked is my mother. I pray Gods protection over her.
We can ask the Lord for His protection and He will give it. We need not fear. Amen!
