Sacrifical fragrance
Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children. And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.
Ephesians 5:1-2 HCSB
Our world is full of artificial frangrace yet a life lived in humility and obedience is very fragrant indeed. There is no need for paint or camouflage.
The bible tells us that Jesus was not attractive naturally:
He grew up before Him like a young plant and like a root out of dry ground. He didn’t have an impressive form or majesty that we should look at Him, no appearance that we should desire Him.
Isaiah 53:2
Yet Jesus was attractive. Why would fishermen drop their nets and follow Him? There is something attractive about a clean peaceful life. One senses the fresh springs flowing from them. Peace oozes from them and there is no guile to be found in them.
Sacrificial fragrance is best! Try it out! Amen!
