Who Are You Serving?
Servants, do what you’re told by your earthly masters. And don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t cover up bad work.
Colossians 3:22-25 MSG
Focus is constant throughout the New Testament. Jesus preached it and the writers of the epistles carried it forward.
The Old Testament was full of love God first, teach your children Gods precept and follow Him. Jesus was and is the word of God. It is therefore quite reasonable that he taught focus.
There is no longer laws to keep and cursed for not keeping but although we are in a period of grace, our actions do reap consequences: what we sow we reap.
So...sow patience, sow grace and mercy and you will receive grace and mercy. Sow faithful service and you will reap faithful service in return.
Remember who's child you are! Amen!
