I have a serious concern to bring up with you, my friends, using the authority of Jesus, our Master. I’ll put it as urgently as I can: You must get along with each other. You must learn to be considerate of one another, cultivating a life in common.
1 Corinthians 1:10 MSG
Consideration for others. This means we must be in an 'others' frame of reference before we interact. If we are in a 'me' framework we will not be considerate.
I cook a bbq for my astronomy club with others and find myself struggling not to grumble if they grumble. Depending on how well prepared I am I can resist or fall into the grumble. Let's face it there are always things to complain about, especially when you are weary and are expected to perform.
I think my whole attitude could be better on these nights and I need to prepare myself for not being a grumble-bum and be filled up so that I am a blessing or deal with the underlying problem.
I can see myself being turned off my club because of these attitudes. I started to cook bbqs to be a blessing and now they have become a chore. I must remember that service is just that. Service is not about me. Amen!
