Running the Race Well

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Acts 20:24 NIV

Paul is saying these words to the elders from Ephesus. He is on his way to Jerusalem and knows he faces imprisonment as the hatred stirred up against him by the Jews would see him imprisoned.

Paul is confident that he had run the race set before him and been faithful with the task of preaching the gospel. How good to finish the race knowing you have run well!

May I finish my race well and show such fruits of my labour. I pray that Christ will be honoured by my actions. Amen!

We are off to a village in Sindalpulchok today. I am awake burdened for souls and aware of my need for humility and patience. May I not disappoint my Lord. Amen!
