Focus

Jesus went on to make these comments: If you’re honest in small things, you’ll be honest in big things; If you’re a crook in small things, you’ll be a crook in big things. If you’re not honest in small jobs, who will put you in charge of the store? No worker can serve two bosses: He’ll either hate the first and love the second Or adore the first and despise the second. You can’t serve both God and the Bank.
Luke 16:10‭-‬13 MSG

I love it! You can't serve God and the Bank. Ha ha! The bank has been in the news, a lot lately, in Australia. We have had a Royal Commission into the banks and they did not come out smelling like roses. In fact they stank of rottenness.

The love of money is bigger than 'the bank' the love of money and what it can do drives many. Lust for possessions fuel the greed for money. The marketers know this and throw all the ads they can at us through the media: "Buy! Buy! Buy!' Images of luxury, prestige and pleasure fill our screens. We are told that money will enable us to have all these.

Needless to say: we cannot serve God wholeheartedly and lust for stuff at the same time. Our hearts function better with pure focus. Amen!
