Love of the World

Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For everything that belongs to the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one’s lifestyle — is not from the Father, but is from the world. 1 John 2:15‭-‬16 HCSB

We cannot rid ourselves of the lusts of the flesh by scraping and scaling but by turning to Christ and seeking His kingdom. He said: "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well". It is all in the seeking. We can determine to seek God with our eye on the world and still fail because when we seek God and His kingdom we must do it, all in.

Our motives are weighed and our motives determine the outcome, not our intentions. God is training us for eternity. We can obey because we want something or obey because we love. It is all down to motives.

The love of money is a destroyer of our souls where the love of God in us makes us. May His kingdom come. Amen!
