Taste And See

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 HCSB

These fruits are an outworking of submitting to the Holy Spirit and yielding to Him. I cannot produce them without His help. Yielding to the Holy Spirit is giving Him room to convict us of areas He would like to change. If I am impatient, He will produce patience, if I am prone to be unkind with my words, He produces kindness, if I am faithless He creates faithfulness, He takes coal and creates diamonds.

We are the raw material for God's handiwork. His goodness can be mine, His peace is mine. Our God has all the fruit and wants it to be ours. He works in us to produce a beautiful orchard from which others, and He, can pick good fruit.

The works of the flesh are opposite and only please our enemy, none benefits from these. I have people give me fruit. When I taste a beautiful rock melon my tastebuds rejoice. How much more when others taste good fruit in our lives. We are told: taste and see that the Lord is good Psalm 34:8.

May others taste and see that the Lord is good in us. May they not find a rotten core in us but delight forevermore. Amen!
