Afflicted?
Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 HCSB
The worst part about affliction is the pain, the best part is being on the other side and able to comfort others. God is so good. Through all my rough times He was my comfort. All my raw nerve endings were in pain and wanted comfort, He was my best comfort. I thought I needed humans, they were thin on the ground, but He was faithful.
People can only comfort to the level they have been comforted. If they have not been touched by the same pain they are at a loss. Yet people who successfully navigate the pain, they are a godsend.
Job had a bunch of comforters who were a waste of space. They thought comfort was judgement. We can be guilty of this: 'you must have done something wrong'. Wrong! Job's only comfort came when the Lord showed up. He is the best comfort. His presence floods the place that was cold with His warmth. He fills all the empty spaces with Him. I know He is good and I will always seek Him.
So...if you are afflicted, seek Him. If you are through affliction seek those who need to know what you know..God is good. Let God provide the answers. Amen!
