Sing to the Lord , all the earth. Proclaim His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonderful works among all peoples. For the Lord is great and highly praised; He is feared above all gods.

This is a declaration by King David. He is giving a decree to Asap and his relatives to serve the Lord in song. This would have been an honour. David seems to be the first to institute music as well.
Nowadays we have church music and expect it to be there. The Christian church struggled with what, how and how much. I am grateful for the development yet show my age in preference to quieter music.
I often sing when out and about. People look and wonder: why is she singing? If asked I would have to say "full of joy!"
As the people in my world dont attend church, a bit of singing won't hurt them. I trust it won't put them off but rather draw them. We need to display joy. The world needs joy. Amen!
