Life Eternal

For I am commanding you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commands, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and multiply, and the Lord your God may bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
Deuteronomy 30:16 HCSB

Chapter 30 gives us Moses last words to the children of Israel before they go across the Jordan with Joshua leading them. He is 120 years old and is about to die.

I find a lot of scripture that the new testament writers referred to, in this chapter. Moses is warning the people: if you put God first He will care for you and you will be blessed, ignore Him and go your own way or the way of the heathens and you will be cursed. Simple!

God is the source and supply, the first, above all. We can ignore Him to our peril. We see some who ignore God all their lives and seem to prosper. Yet if this life was all there is then I understand. However we are eternal beings. We are on this earth a very short time to determine our eternity. Where will it be?

Some refuse to believe there is a hell. Yet if Jesus Himself spoke of it, why? Hell is a place where the fire does not stop, forever. We know fires on the earth, where it may be fierce and last weeks but the fire is extinguished. In hell the fire is never extinguished.

Conversely heaven is with God and has limitless possibilities. Today you must choose: life or death. Amen!
