Rivers of Living Water
If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end. 1 Corinthians 13:3-7 MSG
Today I talked with a delightful couple who live near me. They are Muslim. The husband is having severe bowel problems. I asked if I could pray for him and he allowed me to pray. I am praying for a miracle of body, soul and spirit.
This afternoon I had kids club and one boy misbehaved badly and needed to apologize. I told him I liked him but his behaviour had precluded him from coming for a while. I also told Him He could talk to me if he wanted to sort out what was bothering him. The boy need firm love and he got it.
We are made to love and the river of living water needs to flow out from us. This water, as Jesus said: will never run dry and with it we will never thirst again. Amen! Let it flow!!
