The Prayer of Faith
The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will restore him to health; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The urgent request of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours; yet he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the land. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its fruit. James 5:15-18 HCSB
We must take opportunity to receive healing from each other and it may start with confessing our sins to each other. By ignoring this part we may stay ill and be not completely healed.
Paul actually tells us that many are sick among us for we fail to discern the body of Christ. The rich were bringing their food, not to share with the poor but to indulge themselves and leaving the poor without. This was not right and bringing judgement of them.
True love for others in the church makes us open our eyes and ears to the poor in our midst. Are they needing friends, provisions? Do I have an abundance to share? If I fail to consider others I sin against them. Repentance is the beginning of healing. Amen!
