The Treasure

There’s more: God’s Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure. Otherwise how will we find our way? Or know when we play the fool? Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh! Keep me from stupid sins, from thinking I can take over your work; Then I can start this day sun-washed, scrubbed clean of the grime of sin. These are the words in my mouth; these are what I chew on and pray. Accept them when I place them on the morning altar, O God, my Altar-Rock, God, Priest-of-My-Altar. Psalm 19:11‭-‬14 MSG

Hidden treasure! There is treasure everywhere, all we need to do is look with an inquisitive mind. Tonight I had my Fijian Indian student over for an English lesson. I was impressing on him the need to love language and the the use of it in his dialogue. I love opening up a person's mind to the endless possibilities outside the box.

One of the questions my client had to answer was the differences between home schooling and institutional schooling. As my client is young he had no concept of what home schooling would be like. I educated him. As my daughter-in-law home schools her 5 children I had a little more knowledge and went about unpacking the potential joys that this method of schooling could bring.

As someone who was schooled in an institution I could compare. The key ingredient to any education is the teacher. If any child: home schooled or otherwise has a teacher who loves life, is inquisitive, loves language and learning, then the children will flourish. I had this in a public education system. I was fortunate!

In Christ we have greater treasures to discover. If we are taught about the treasure we will hunt for it. The treasure is there for us to find. Our God is greater than the square. Amen!
