The Trial

A man who endures trials is blessed, because when he passes the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12 HCSB

I am sure we have all faced trials and tests. Anyone who has done a scholastic exam would know why they did it: the educators needed to know you understood the lessons and you needed to know. James, himself tells us why we face tests in life, earlier in the chapter:

Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:2‭-‬4

Our faith is precious to God. He gives us a beginning measure and wants us to use it. In using faith, it grows, much like a muscle.

Endurance is what life is about. By endurance we prove the will of the Father and as in any endurance race, we receive a prize. Hebrews 10:36.

No easy sailing folks. We are not here for a rest but rather the work of the kingdom. Amen!
