God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:9 NLT
What is a holy life? Do I need to become a nun or priest? Must I live in isolation? No! We are also called to be a light in a dark place. If we are totally separated to a safe, 'holy' place, we are not able to shine into a dark place.
Having said this, parents need to be wise in regard to their own children and not cause them to go into danger. We can choose for ourselves, but then again we need to consider how our choices affect our families.
It must be a hard call for parents called to be missionaries, taking their children into potentially risky situations. I have contact with several who serve in Nepal and who have taken their children with them. To date all are well and God has been good to them.
In some countries, choosing to be a Christian carries a potential death penalty. I can only pray for them.
So...dear Christian be holy as He is holy, separate from the worldly ways and shine! Amen!
