Stand Fast

Christ has liberated us to be free. Stand firm then and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1 HCSB https://bible.com/bible/72/gal.5.1.HCSB

We only really appreciate freedom when we have been a captive. Those who have been imprisoned, those who have been caught in slavery, those caught in bondage to a particular sin all have a great reason to rejoice. I was, however, not caught in any of these but I knew I was in darkness and desperate to find Jesus.

I found my saviour at 19 and have clung to Him ever since. I am grateful that He is and that He did conquer hell for me. I am grateful that I can trust Him with my life.

I have friends in Nepal who are struggling with floods. I look back over my brief history and see a multitude of struggles and disasters, yet my God brought me through. He, no one else was my saviour and He has done such a good job. Thank You Lord!

Only God can give freedom and liberty. Only God can answer all the questions. Only God is faithful! We can trust Him! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
