But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. We take ourselves too seriously and judge everything according to as to how it affects us. This is not what God wants us to do. How things affect Him are what counts.
A person may think they can handle speed and therefore speed, yet if caught will say: "I was in a hurry" or "I was late", never truly admitting the real reason: I wanted to speed because I can handle it.
The very reason that people speed is killing them and others. If they survive they will even plead: 'not guilty'. We must face the real truth, not the made-up, get me off the hook truth.
This is just one area. There are many others in which mankind continue to say: I can handle the tree of the knowledge of good and evil when I fact we can't.
