Eternal Wrath or Eternal Life?
The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him. John 3:36 HCSB https://bible.com/bible/72/jhn.3.36.HCSB
The Oxford dictionary tells me wrath is extreme anger. Most of us have seen someone extremely angry, how was that? You wanted to avoid them, didn't you? Yet if we say: "well if God is so extremely angry with me why would I want anything to do with Him?"
As a child did you ever see your father extremely angry over something you did? Did you run away or try and sort it out? Did you want your father's love?
I remember a time when I was around 16 and had been to Sydney for a school excursion. The last night we had gone to dinner at a restaurant and for fun, I stole a dinner glass. Upon returning home I proudly showed my father. He became very angry and told me not to steal. I have never stolen, ever again.
I endured my father's wrath but it had an effect to return me to the right road.
Gods wrath is on sin and if we refuse His Son as forgiveness of sin then we are caught up in His wrath. Being determined to go our own way is a part of the sin road.
I accepted Christ and gained more than freedom from wrath, I discovered Gods love for me and I am glad. Amen!
