False Prophets

“Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves. You’ll recognize them by their fruit. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles? In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit; neither can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So you’ll recognize them by their fruit. Matthew 7:15‭-‬20 HCSB https://bible.com/bible/72/mat.7.15-20.HCSB

This principle is true of anyone. If we wonder: Can I trust this person? Look at how this person treats their family, their animals, their work colleagues and you will find the truth.

It does not matter how eloquent a person sounds. Paul tells us in 1 Cor 13 that there are noisy gongs and clanging cymbals that are worth nothing if they did not have genuine love.

This is a good lesson for us as well. Do we hope to influence others? How do we treat the elderly, the children, the sick, the poor?

Without Gods love we are nothing. Amen!
