Narrow or Wide Road?
“Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it? Matthew 7:13-14 HCSB https://bible.com/bible/72/mat.7.13-14.hcsb
I have travelled on both types of roads and know which I prefer, naturally speaking. The wider road is usually well paved, handles the rain much better, has better markings for night driving and usually clear of obstacles, like fallen trees, mudslides etc.
I have travelled on many narrow tracks in Nepal and if they weren't washed out through rain they were blocked with mudslides or trees fell across the road.
We are creatures of comfort. Even the men who buy four-wheeled drive vehicles don't use the features as they are seldom in places that need them and when they are they do not know how to use them.
Scripture tells us how to gear up for Christian life. It is much like buying a four-wheel drive and knowing how to use it. We are here to do battle for the souls of many. In the process, we must attack unsound thinking, wrong attitudes and stances and be willing to fight for the truth.
The battle is very evident now around abortion, transgenderism and euthanasia. However what about the souls? We are here for people born and unborn.
We need to consider these. Amen!
