Be Ready For Action

Therefore, with your minds ready for action, be serious and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance. Is your mindset, ready for action? I am sure those who serve in the armed services understand this principle. They are trained to be ready. Our God is endeavouring to train us to be ready.

What does He want us ready for? The revealing of the 'grace'  of Jesus Christ. This grace is an endowment for a task. It is not like bubble bath, something just for us to revel in. Grace is given as the Son of God is revealed to an in us. Grace is for action.

This grace is empowerment to be holy, living set-apart lives, lives not consumed with worldly things and passions.

Holiness touches the lives of the others in our world, it convicts, it refreshes, it feeds others. We are called to be holy like the Lord is holy and be a source of life and blessing. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
