Living By The Spirit

Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Galatians 5:25 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/gal.5.25.NLT

Living by the Spirit. How do we do that? We abide! Jesus said: if you abide in Me and My Word abides in you, you can ask whatever you will and it shall be done! He also prayed to the Father:  'thank You Father that You always hear me'. Jesus told His disciples that if they abide in Him the Father and He would come and make their home with us.

A lot of benefits, don't you think? Worth considering. Is there someone our Father would rather have us be? Yes! Like His Son! Who though, His previous position in heaven gave Him rights,  humbled Himself to be born in a stable as a man just like His creation.

I watched a short video about a carter pillar which metamorphosed several times in it's life. Imagine you being born as a caterpillar. This gives a context for God becoming a man. Your memory of your manhood would conflict with your humble station and you would rail against it thinking: 'I am greater than this!'

You are greater than your flesh and should not live there. Walk in the Spirit! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
