Good and Perfect

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

If I were to ask you what you considered what would constitute a 'good and perfect' gift, what would you say? Would you choose a car, a house or a holiday? I find it unusual that I can never discern what gift would knock my socks off, so to speak. Yet, God the Father does it again and again and again.

Today I received a parcel in the post. I was expecting something I had ordered but it was something else. It was an umbrella, a special umbrella with art work on its canopy. It was a beautiful surprise from one of my sisters.

I hope I was able to be the bringer of gifts to a friend who the Lord put on my heart. He also had two people phone me with items they wanted to give away. I knew I was in a slipstream and it was wonderful. I love to be an answer, how about you?

God only gives good and perfect gifts. Start thanking Him for the little things and all He has given you and see movement in the camp. He is drawn to such behaviour with delightful consequences. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
