Seek The Lord

Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.

There are times of salvation. We may have a meeting with God through something that happens to us. It is an opportunity to take a different path. In these moments we have a choice to make: will I continue to seek God first or now that He has helped me I will discard Him.

Discarding the Lord and expecting Him to behave like a genie is fraught with danger. God wants a relationship with us. If we refuse Him, we may find there is a day when we cannot find Him.

During the Bush fires in Australia, a farmer said he saw the face of the devil in the smoke. He was not a believer. I believe he was seeing the culprit. Blaming God for the fires is stupid. We have an enemy and he is not God. Turning to God is smart.

So, today where will you go? The lover of your soul is calling. Will you respond? You may find it was the best decision of your life.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
