Testing and Endurance
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12 NLT
If I was a runner I would welcome the trial runs, they would show me how fast I was and where I needed to tune up my performance. This is true in academia and many arenas of life.
When we think we are learning something we can become a little cockey and arrogant. The trial sorts us out and humbles us.
When we have an problem that we cannot see and God can, then trial causes us to react and reveal a problem which God wants to bring about a change in. He is all about transforming us into the image of His Son. We are into cruising, as much as possible.
I noticed the 'cruise'factor at Connect on Wednesday night. We were having to discuss temptations and trials and most everybody were into spruiking knowledge about the topic. I saw it for the first time as usually I am in boots and all. As I am currently waiting on the Lord for revelation about something in my life I was a little more sensitive to my behaviour.
So, where are you? Cruising or humbly seeking. Do you know which one will change you more?
God says that when we seek Him with all our hearts we will find Him. Amen!
