A Gentle Answer
A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare.
Proverbs 15:1 NLT
If an angry person attacks us, we may react, especially if discontent was brewing or trouble was already at play.
However, there are times when we are attacked, we are not in the arena and may be perplexed: where is this person coming from?
The best frame is when we are soaked in God and handle the attack with grace. I love it when I am in this place as I have self-control and am not at the mercy of my assailant. However, I am not always here. So, what do I do? Pray! Lord help me and wait and keep my peace.
My God is the best handler of anger. He is like a lion tamer with an effective whip. His mercy and grace are mine for the asking and it is in abundant supply. Amen!
