eternal life

And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.” John 3:36 NLT

How would you enjoy living in a country where the leader hated you and what you represented  and sought to destroy you? Many Christians do. Persecution has not abated, in fact it has increased.However, for the purpose of illustration the question was asked. 

People who choose to live for themselves and not accept Christ live under judgement, their actions are judged. Whilst the Lord does not seek to destroy these people, they do not enjoy His presence or protection.

I remember a time when I felt excluded and under judgement. This was when God was drawing me to salvation. The final act He did for me was to reveal my sin and open my eyes to Jesus.

The above words were spoken by John The Baptist, not Jesus. John had come preaching awareness of sin and repentance. Jesus came showing the way, He was and is the Way. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
