confronting thoughts
We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NLT
We cannot deal with wrong thinking without confrontation. We must challenge our own thoughts and know why they are there, where they came from and dispatch them accordingly.
Next we nust lovingly confront the ideas of others. If they are good and uplifting then they can stay, if they are critical, troublemaking, bullying, demeaning in any way, confront them.
I had a friend complain to me about someone at church a few days ago. I said: "I am sorry, I do not find them like that! Why not take them for a coffee and talk it over." Encouraging others to likewise confront decently is the first step.
If we fail to confront, we fail to love. Loving enough to confront the problem and not attack the person is important. Usually our common enemy is the problem, evict him. Amen!
