run, not faint

Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:28‭-‬31 NLT

There are times when I will feel faint: after intense study, not consistent sleep, long exhaustive travel. I am sure I am not uncommon. Another thing that exhausts is intense emotional trauma. I have been there as well. It is in these times I cling to the Lord for His strength. When I was out of energy, I would get up and say: all over to You now Lord, I will walk in Your strength, and did.

God's strength is there for us. We may run on our own for as long as we can and then turn to Him. However, His was available all along. 

His strength is there when we cannot find in ourself the will to forgive. We can walk in His strength, it will sustain us. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
