seek

Seek the Lord , all who are humble, and follow his commands. Seek to do what is right and to live humbly. Perhaps even yet the Lord will protect you— protect you from his anger on that day of destruction.
Zephaniah 2:3 NLT

Zephaniah was a prophet in Judah around 600BC. He prophesied the destruction of Nineveh, which happened in 612BC. Josiah was king in Judah. His father and grandfather had been wicked kings, leading the people into idolatry. Josiah was a good king who worked to rid the land of idols. He was reaponsible for the reading of the scriptures to the people and in bringing them to repentance.

The scripture aboves comes in such a time as we live in. Our world is in chaos. Its determination to turn its back on our God has opened the door to all manner of evil.

Now is the time for God's people to seek Him in earnest and establish the kingdom of God firstly in their own lives and in the lives of all around them. As God's people live kingdom of heaven lives they impact their world for good. Amen!

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
