be prepared

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

Imagine being thrown into a war you did not understand, on a planet you barely knew. You could create a movie about the experience, if you were to survive it.

You are in such a place and such a war. I believe the COVID19 has probably brought this home more than ever. Countires are experiencing martial law, riots are ensuing. We are seeing a world at war with itself, blind to the enemy within. 

What is the answer? Seek God and His plan and follow it, use His weaponery as it is tried and true and put on His armoury. You cannot fight this with nice thoughts, with platitudes or jokes, whilst they help, they will not defeat the enemy, Only God's power can do that. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
