life or death, which do you choose?

But now that you’ve found you don’t have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way! Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. I like the way this version says: work hard for sin your whole life, and your pension is death. Imagine attaining pension age only to find, no joy, no hope, no future but penury.

This is how those who have  come to the life's end experience the reality of eternity. We can scoff and ignore warnings, but the day comes when we must face reality. Eternity without God will be hell. Thr enemy who deceived you into to following your own lusts and desires, and living for you, will have his gloves off. We see brutality depictes in movies and at times in documentaries. Our enemy is the master of brutality. Hell is not a booze up, there will be no more pleasing yourself. There will be pain, horror and constant torture.

Seriously, do you want to go there?

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
