refreshing rest

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. [Jer. 6:16.] Matthew 11:28‭-‬29 AMPC

How do we come to find rest? First we need to lay down our way of doing things, pause, seek the Lord and meditate on His goodness. The rush has to be put aside.

Even in my morning devotion I can find myself on a programme and I have to stop, put on worship music and worship thr Lord. The prayer list can wait until I serve my Father first. His view on His word and the ones I pray for is more important.

I remember being a new wife and mother, and being driven by a need to clean my house on a set day or set way. I had to find the happy medium. I believe I did.

Always if I have a base of rest and peace things flow, the best!
