a strength that never fails

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word. [Ps. 32:7; 91:1.]
Psalm 119:114 AMPC

The writer says he puts his hope in the Lord, as the Lord is his shield. The author was from a time when shields were used widely and valued for the protection they gave. A warrior trusted his shield. The author, however, trusts his God and knows Him to be like His shield. To write this, he would understand faith. To trust in a God he could not see, and liken Him to a shield, which he could see, reveals a level of great faith.

The Christian is told that one of the weapons of warefare for him, is his faith, in the book of Ephesians, chapter 6. The common denominators are faith, and  God, the best!

We might, for a time, trust in our own strength, but when it fails, where to next? Our God never fails. Amen!
