I will sing

But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. Psalms 59:16 NLT

David was someone who made a habit of singing. While in isolation minding sheep he kept himself company with singing to his God. He had learned to go there in his alone times and knew God was good company.

In our alone times we need good habits, not reaching for alcohol, drugs or wrong websites. Our God is indeed good company and is our source of life. Things of the earth give temporary pleasure, but He has no bad habits to break, and He is not expensive. In fact courting Him saves our souls from hell on earth and in eternity.

This scripture opens up my heart to a time of scripture in song. I know these words to music, so it is easy for me to sing this morning.

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever, I will sing, I will sing. I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever I will sing of the mercies of the Lord. With my heart will I make known Your faithfulness, Your faithfulness. With my heart will I make know Your faithfulness to all generations. I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever I will sing of the mercies of the Lord. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
