in times of emptiness
Seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His face and to be in His presence continually!

In NSW, Australia, we are having a long weekend. Long weekends from work are fun, but long weekends in pandemic is more of the same.
As I usually don't study on the weekend but rather do housework and yardwork, it is all done. When everything is done I face emptiness and need to fill it. I make a practice of pushing into the Lord and asking Him to use this emptiness as fuel for miracles of restoration. I can't give in to lonliness as it is tied to hoplessness. God has a purpose and wants to spend this time with me. It must be fuel for miracles.
The above scripture tells me that it agrees with me. The Lord is preaent in every trial and seeking Him and His purpose is paramount.
I am reminded of Daniel who was castrated as a young man and taken into the heathen court of Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel spent his life in Babylon and he served three kings. As a eunuch Daniel would not have had children or even been able to be married. I wonder if the desire to marry was one of his heartfelt desires and if, perhaps, the one he loved was also taken and given to another. We never think of the humanity of the bible greats but I am sure Daniel was very human.
Daniel served the Lord forever and for his sacrifice he had great visions and prophesies, he also survived a stint in the lion's dens caused by the jealous sorcerers.
Daniel reminds me to be faithful and to continually put to death my selfish needs. God is waiting to reveal His glory. Amen!
