sacrifice for sin
For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, Romans 3:25 NLT

Sin requires punishment. When my children were young, they were spanked for bad behaviour. They learned that bad behaviour bore consequences.
Eternal punishment is unbearable to consider. Therefore, Jesus chose to set us free by being a substitute for us. He not only died a cruel death but He rose again. By rising again He defeated the power of death. His rising again was a symbol of what happens to us. We rise to new life in Him. Baptism is how we show the world we believe in the power of the cross.
There is power in the cross, and the shed blood of the lamb (Jesus). This power is greater than all the works of the Devil and his horde. There is power to set us free from sin, and all the temptations of the evil one. Amen!
