wait

The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life — of whom should I be afraid?
Psalms 27:1 HCSB

This is a Davidic Psalm. How can he be so confident? Experience and knowing his heart's desire is to dwell in the Lord's presence. He finishes the psalm with: I will wait for the Lord.

The king before David was Saul and he had a problem waiting for God's solution. When the prophet Samuel delayed in coming to offer a sacrifice before battle, he did. This was unholy fire and forbidden. Because Saul did not wait he lost the kingdom.

We cannot afford to not wait upon the Lord. He is our answer. Amen!
