when will God answer?

At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or command grasshoppers to devour your crops, or send plagues among you. Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place. 2 Chronicles 7:13‭-‬15 NLT

These scriptures come from a word God spoke to King Solomon who was instrumental in doing something noone had ever done in Israel before, built a temple for the Lord.

The Lord is wanting to do something new in His people, again. The scripture above contains a verse Christians all know well: if my people... however, the plagues and sicknesses still persist, what are we missing?

We are still content in the way we have always done things because they allow us to do things our way. We are comfortable, yet our countries are being ravaged by wickedness. How much wickedness, sickness and disease will the Christian chuch consume before it humbles itself and seeks God? It appears it wants a lot more. Is it prepared for what is to come?

I can start with me. What can I do? Humble nyself and pray:

I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord , that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’
Hosea 10:12 NLT

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
