alive in Christ

Now that you’ve cleaned up your lives by following the truth, love one another as if your lives depended on it. Your new life is not like your old life. Your old birth came from mortal sperm; your new birth comes from God’s living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself! That’s why the prophet said, The old life is a grass life, its beauty as short-lived as wildflowers; Grass dries up, flowers droop, God’s Word goes on and on forever. Although our outer tent is wearing away, our inner man has the opportunity to flourish and grow. All things are possible for the Spirit man. Mountians of faith, miracles, words of knowledge, and wisdom. All are ours in Christ.

Our mirrors remind us of our fragility, our knees wear our, our hips and joints may ache, but inside we are 20. Last night I saw a rescue of a 91 year old paraglider who went down on the coast of NSW, Australia. What a lively man, still full of life and vitality. He inspires me!

Let us be full of the Holy Spirit an inspiration to all who meet us. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
