by faith

Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 HCSB

This precious promise is sandwiched between two examples: Enoch and Noah. Enoch walked with God and pleased Him, God took him, he was not buried; Noah believed God spoke to him, and built an ark, right away from water, in a time when it had never rained.

These two examples are to encourage us in knowing what faith looks like, and the gem in between explains the working of faith.

James tells us that faith without works is dead. We can say we have faith, but noone would know because we are not doing anything by faith, conversely, we can put our faith to work to believe God for an outcome yet unseen, but believed.

I walk by faith! Amen!
