Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18‭-‬20 MSG

When someone says they are commissioned, what comes to mind a royal envoy, a secret agent, a special messenger, or something equally glamorous.

The commissioning a Christian receives is glamorous, we are commissioned by a King to herald the coming of His kingdom. Jesus is the soon coming king. He is coming to rule and reign on the earth for 1000 years, during which Satan is bound in the pit.
Yet, when He first came to earth to die on a cross, He said: behold, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. The kingodm of God has to do with righteousness, peace and joy, but also justice and mercy. He set us free from our sins, and the consequences of sin.

We can bring His kingdom to earth by the way we live out our commission. If we behave as royalty, then royalty affects all who surround us. We carry influence, let us use it for the purpose it was intended. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
