In this time of falsehood there is a way to know the truth about one who says they belong to Jesus Christ. They confess the Lordship of Jesus Christ and they believe His word is all ordained by God. There is no deception in them.

Ministers falling from grace is, unfortunately, a regular occurrence, as is the falling of those who say they belong to Christ. This is always a way back, repentance amd forgiveness.

In Australia we regularly see political representatives falling from grace. There are those who have knives out ready to dissect. It was interesting that our state premier was found out to not only have hidden an affair with another man who had been married, but also be involved in financial dealings that were questionable. After the initial outcry and lust for blood, by the oposition party, nothing came of it, and she still serves, saying she did nothing wrong. The fortunate thing for this minister is she handled the coronavirus management well, after an initial blunder.

What of God's shepherds? This is different. Scripture tells us the criteria for being a shepherd of God's people. God's word will not change and neither can we expect it to. We can only pray for the minister for his restoration in Christ.

For those who fall away, there is, really only one avenue to life, repentance and forgiveness. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
