remain
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. John 15:4 NLT

Remain means stay. However, if we have never yielded to allowing Jesus to be Lord of our lives, we were never 'in' to start with. Firstly, we must yield authority over our lives, then when we are in Christ, we must remain.
Chapter 15 of the gospel of John tells us what being 'in' looks like. It is not all roses but entails pruning, so that we produce fruit.
This chapter also tells us what happens if we do not remain 'in'. Those who do not remain 'in' are thrown aside, and cast into the fire, and are burned.
So, basically, you stay 'in' and are pruned or 'out' and are consumed with fire. Being in Christ is attractive to the Father, our prayers are answered, He comes to fellowship with us. Amen!
