tenderhearted

And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ. Ephesians 4:32 HCSB

What does the word tenderhearted mean? Having a kind, gentle, sentimental nature, easily moved to compassion.

I have been unkind about the word 'sentimental', probably due to the way it has always been used. Yet it means: prompted by feelings of tenderness, sadness or nostalgia.

How can we be tenderhearted with each other? Apply grace, lots of grace. We see Jesus in the gospels do this. He was rough with the religious leaders who were acting falsly but with the broken and downtrodden, He was conpassionate.
